Thanks to the application of on-line-ready radio terminals, the system reduces the number of errors and speeds up warehouse processes. Besides bar code terminals, the system is capable of liaising with RFID devices and the voice control system VoicePicking.
Advanced support for the receipt of goods
When employed in the process of goods receipt, Asseco Safo WMS enables, for instance:
- separation of external and internal deliveries (from manufacture)
- the receipt of goods combined with the handling of order and advice of delivery
- the assigning of a particular unloading gate
- quantitative and qualitative control of received goods
- creation and maintenance of any units of storage
- automatic selection of a storage location by fixed or free random approach
- organization and division of work among different operators
- precise identification of the personnel and the times of performing individual tasks
Intelligent space management
Defined in Asseco Safo WMS, the flexible structure of the warehouse and storage locations, as well as the mechanisms for their allocation and the option of defining warehouse locations facilitate the warehouse-internal organization and operations. The system is able to recognize many storage criteria, such as light goods at the top and fast moving at the bottom. On top of that, this approach allows inventory recording for each location and item. Asseco Safo WMS offers a flexible concept of the warehouse structure, storage locations and their allocation. It helps store goods by defining storage locations, including their coordinates, size, load capacity and type (e.g. pallet, rack, block).
Automated process of goods delivery
As part of this process, the system schedules and optimizes picking for full pallets and mixed shipping units. Optimization takes into account the size and durability of goods and their location in the picking path. The system supports the issuing of goods by FIFO, LIFO or FEFO method and the assigning of products to a specific recipient. It further supports the generation of transport orders for forklift operators and handles the option of repackaging of goods. The system also supports the process of picking inspection before loading on the internal transport system.
Optimization of forklift operation
Effective management of a warehouse also involves the optimization of forklift action. Our solution helps create action plans for forklifts in order to:
-
handle tasks in accordance with the latest priorities
-
minimize empty runs
-
neutralize task overlap
Optimization of forklift operation is achieved through the recording of:
-
their current location (coordinates)
-
their transport capacity (maximum height - reach, work area, load-bearing capacity)
-
types of pending tasks (receipt, issue, conveying items to pick points)
-
"priorities" calculated for each of assigned tasks, considering the date from which the task is pending
-
coordinates of pick points and goods delivery locations
